PSP2

Gyroscopes, accelerometers, rear touch pad, multi-touch screen, new non-disc proprietary memory.

They hope to launch in at least one region in 2011.

I currently own one game for my PSP.

I'm sure having games in a format that locks me into one retailer will help with that.

I don't like the way any of it looks - hardware OR OS. Until I see some games that I want, I have no plans to buy one. My PSPs are okay, and I enjoy them to some extent... But they're not my favorite systems.

I wouldn't mind a second PSP-2000.... there's some experiments I want to run, but I don't want to mess up my main one. Wish I had a 3000 as well...

Pandora Batteries are way cheaper than systems, you know.

EDIT: That description sounds terrible.
I opened the case to clean the screen a while back, but some of the internal screws fell on my carpet and were never seen again, so some of the internal components are loose, such as the D-pad and occasionally the triggers. The case is cracked in some spots, due to a drop. The power switch has disconnected from the electronic component. In its current state you can flick it on with a needle or something sharp.

tldr; the only part of the psp that is fucked is the shell. buy a new shell and you'll be golden with this system. All of this is easily repaired by buying this and installing it without using peanut butter.

I'll send it to you for whatever shipping costs, if you really want it.

Kidding aside, I think it has the potential to be good competition for-

Nah I can't even finish that sentence. The PSP has always been a less powerful, portable PS3 with PSP-exclusive games on it but they don't put enough games on it to make it be competition for anyone. 3DS will destroy the PSP2; in addition to its massive 6+ month lead on it, the combination of a new gimmick (3D), ports of amazing games for the old school hardcore audience, and a line-up that gets better and better as time goes on, once again, Nintendo will reign supreme in its handheld superiority.

And I mean that as arrogantly and close-minded as possible. Also, "HEY SONY! There's a gaming system with all the stuff you're adding and it has better games! Y'wanna know what it's called? The iPhone!"

I disagree with you, and cite this article:

I don't think it'll sell more units than the 3DS, but I don't think it'll be a failure by any means. I don't foresee any huge shakeup over the current relationship between the DS and PSP, though.

I suppose the word "destroy" made it seem like I meant it was going to do absolutely horrible, but that's not what I meant. It won't "die" persay, it'll just have the same, if not worse, relationship with the 3DS. There will always be Sony fans buying PSPs that won't give in to Nintendo and buy 3DSes, that much is certain. But it's clear to me that they're going to be behind by the time they launch and the price will definitely have an impact on their sales. They've added more technology, let's see how much it'll cost for all of it. If they manage to make it cost less than the 3DS, they're in the clear. But if it's more, then it'll probably be back where it was; behind Nintendo.

Also "and I mean that as arrogantly and close-minded as possible" was kind of supposed to discredit that post a little more than the credit you gave it. Hell that iPod thing was a joke too; the iPod doesn't have the processing power and exclusive games to be considered competition for the handheld gaming world.
